Gender Reveal Cookies: Baby Silhouette Cookies

We have some big news in the Supak household!  I am so excited to announce that I am pregnant and due this September!

Since I've started up this cookie venture, it seems like every major milestone that happens in our life now has to be celebrated with cookies!  And finding out the gender of our precious baby was no exception.

Ever since I saw this idea on Sweet Sugarbelle's blog, I knew I would want to do it when it came time for us to have another baby.  I was going to show you the step-by-step process to the cookies, but she created such a wonderful tutorial, I thought, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"  If you are interested, you can see the tutorial here.

Looking at these cookies, you wouldn't know that hidden inside is either pink or blue dough to reveal the gender.  Isn't that just a genius idea?!  The exterior design is my original idea (I've become a bit obsessed with silhouette cookies as you can see here and here), and I actually hand-painted the cookies as well.  Not because I was going for a certain effect, but honestly I was being lazy and didn't want to make any black icing.

We are thrilled to announce that Baby Supak is a ....

GIRL!

Thanks for being a part of this exciting journey with me.  I can't wait to meet our precious baby this fall!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Eliza: Cowgirl Cookies

I LOVE all of my customers, but when a customer is as easy going as Rebekah it makes it very hard to not play favorites.  She emailed me her daughter's invitation for her party and just asked me to make some cookies that coordinated with the cowgirl theme.  Although her party was back in December, now that it's rodeo time in San Antonio I thought it was the perfect time to share them.

This adorable silhouette of a little cowgirl riding a stick horse was on the invitations and I knew I had to include it in the cookies in some way.

I hope you had a wonderful 2nd birthday, Eliza!  I am always so honored to be a part of someone's special day!

Cat Birthday Set

I will start off by saying these are the most random cookies I have done to date, but if I'm being honest, I love them!

Haley wanted to order cookies for one of her best friends Katie's 17th birthday.  She didn't really care what they looked like, but she wanted them to be bright, colorful and include cats, Katie's favorite animal.  I also had to include solid black houses.  I wasn't given an explanation, but I am assuming some sort of inside joke.

When I was trying to figure out what I should do, I remembered the bunny silhouette cookie from my Easter Egg cookies and thought, "Why not do the same but with a cat?"  Also, I know this will instantly age me, but I loved Lisa Frank when I was younger and this set seemed reminiscent of that... maybe that's why I ended up liking it so much!

 I hope you had a purr-fect 17th birthday, Katie (beyond cheesy I know, but I couldn't resist)!

Happy Father's Day: Father & Son Silhouette Cookies

Father's Day is almost here and I wanted to do something special for one of the best fathers I know, my husband Kevin.  Kevin is an incredible father to James and I am so blessed to have a partner who shares the load and helps so much.  James goes crazy every weekday when he hears the garage go up because he knows that "Dada" is home.

One of James's favorite places in the world is sitting on his Dada's shoulders.  I still remember the first time I saw him up there (the picture on the right).  I was inside "cleaning" (at least that's what I told Kevin I was doing) and I hear a knock at the front door.  I go to answer and I see this adorable, chubby face smiling down at me.

Since then, we have captured several photos of James in that same spot.  One of my favorite pictures of Kevin and James is one taken at his 1st birthday by my friend Krista of Event Identity.  It is the picture on the left above and on the right below.  He just looks so content up there.

I also can't believe it's been a year already since Kevin's first Father's Day, picture on the top right.  James was smitten with his Daddy from the get-go.  I even joked that now was the time that James was supposed to be obsessed with Mommy and that Kevin would get his time later when James got into sports and what-not.

These beautiful photos were captured by my friend Lynnsay Macey of Lynnsay Macey Photography.  It just melts my heart when I look at these and see the joy in James's eyes.

Kevin, since James is not yet able to express it to you, I want you to know that he already adores you and can't get enough of spending time with you.  Every day when you get home from work and y'all play outside together is one of his favorite times of the day.  He loves bonding with you and I already see him wanting to be just like you.  You are his hero, his supporter, his mentor, his provider, his biggest fan, his teacher, but most importantly, You are his Dad.

We love you!
